The Simple 5-Square Cross is at the center of each block in this 1940's diagonal. Since the cotton edges are wearing thin around the quilt, it may be re-bordered for preservation. The piece-work is sturdy with no open places. No batting is showing through. This is a pleasant, consistent piece of country hand-sewing. The Cotton prints are most likely of flour sack cloth, the standard for quilts of this era.
