Very early linen confirmation dress, these garments were passed down for generations, this a beautiful collector piece. Cuffed sleeves, gathered skirt, and tie-front shawl, which has a bit of easily fixed damage, feature insertions of handmade lace. Metal snaps at waist are new, probably replaced for use by the daughter or granddaughter to use at her ceremony.. Bust 36, waist 24. With some minor repair work, this could certainly become a lovely showpiece. Looks to be from the early teens-1910.
