Vintage 1980s custom designed wedding dress. The dress is a replica of a court dress worn at court weddings by the Imperial Family of Russia in the second half of the 19th century. The dress is of cream colored satin with a fitted bodice that ends in a point at the waist in the front and the back. Jewel/round neckline. The sleeevs are hanging sleeves that are 26" from shoulder to sleeve hem. The attached skirt is pleated and full allowing for a petticoat, crinoline slip or other underpinnings. Hidden zipper down center back with hook and eye closures as well. The dress is accentuated with pearls around the neckline and on the bodice at waistline dips/points. Additional embellishment consists of golden thread appliques and pearls. The train is approximately 9.5 feet in length from the waist to the end and it is approximately 6 feet at its widest point. Attached skirt is 39" from waist to hem or 55.5" from back of neck to hem. Train has pearled looped handle to wear around wrist at reception. Great condition. The dress is accompanied with the book that contains the dress that it copied. "The Russian Style" (1976) edited by Jacqueline Onassis with the cooperation of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
